Leti is a performer and facilitator based in Montreal.

Letizia developed an interest in teaching movement accessible to all when she taught Pilates matwork. Today, she works for Festival Quartiers Danses, whose mission is to democratize contemporary dance. She supports dancers in delivering workshops in community centres, nursery homes, kindergardens, migrants centres, art galleries and museums.

In particular, Festival Quartiers Danses has partnered with organisations such as Rêvanous, AMDI, Les Muses and PurpleStars to encourage access to dance to adults living with developmental disabilities.

Letizia holds an MA from Goldsmiths College (University of London, UK) in Performance Making. As a movement practitioner, Letizia has worked with architects, visual artists and physical theatre companies in the UK. She has developped and taken part to site-specific performances on bridges, waterfronts and forgotten, indoor or outdoor sites.

Lee is a contemporary dancer and facilitator based in Montreal.

As a child struggling with dyslexia, Lee turned to dance as his form of expression. He was initiated to Modern dance as at Toronto's Dance Theatre evening Graham classes. He holds a degree from The School of Contemporary Dancers in Winnipeg. The forms that Lee has studied are Pilates, Graham, Dunham, Contact Improvisation, Horton, Limon, Cunningham and Ballet.

Lee has enriched his career as a dancer by working as a carer and teaching functional movement and bodily expression to children with learning disabilities. In particular, Lee has collaborated with the Rainbow project (Toronto edition), teaching movement to children with autism.

Lee has performed professionally at Jacobs Pillow Dance Centre (Massachusetts), The Egg (New Jersey), Old Town Temecula (California), Betty Oliphent (Ontario), and Harbour-Front (Ontario). He has taught dance class at George Brown College (Toronto) for 2 years.

What we offer

WHAT WE OFFER

Picture taken from Poem-Bodies Workshop organised Festival Quartiers Danses for Compagnons de Montréal, supporting people living, training, and inclusion for adults with intellectual disabilities.

Our sessions aim to develop a sense of relaxation and confidence in relation to motor skills. We guide a gentle warm-up, a series of individual and group exercises, short choreography and cool down.

We aim to focus on tension-release to heighten sensation, to increase body awareness as well as physical response to one's surroundings.

Our exercises will gently encourage qualities such as stability, breathing, flow and grounding and coordination.

We use music with tonal shifts specifically created/selected to engage participants.

Personalised attention will always be possible as there will be two workshop leaders in the room at all times. We are excited to work with educators to better follow participants at their own pace.

Workshop series available.
